When I first made a website, more than twenty years ago, it wasn’t exactly hard for the average person to publish something on the internet. Geocities would give registered users some free space and you could upload whatever you wanted (as long as it was legal and family-friendly), and that was about it. You could have all your online footprint in one place, and people would hopefully visit it someday.
Today you’re much more likely to have several different accounts on many websites – not to mention
There are loads of places where you can build a presence online, which probably renders old-school blogs such as this one irrelevant. However, you need to become increasingly succinct in the popular websites, from Facebook (where verbosity is possible), to Twitter (good luck with that), to the Gram (where you have to make do with pictures – good luck making them worth a thousand words).
